Michael Crichton Environmentalism as Religion run amok
Michael Crichton’s work on Environmentalism as a religion uses logos and pathos quite extensively. He begins with logic as his first weapon as he talks about all the different types of effects that are happening to the world today. he mostly talks about though different religious practices and how this really has nothing to do with environmentalism. this is to appeal to the logos and our logic because this is in fact very logical. religion doesn’t have much of a place in environmentalism and he makes his point clear through the logic he uses when describing this. Next he uses emotion to make you angry by telling you that some organizations aren’t doing as much as they could. this causes angry and causes you to get behind his argument even more. even then without much evidence behind his claims you are still behind his argument for some reason. i wonder why this? this is because his logos pathos are used so advantageously.
